The Gilbert Police Department (GPD) is doubling down on its commitment to road safety in Gilbert, thanks to the support of the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (AZGOHS). Grant funds provided by the AZGOHS for the 2024 Federal Fiscal Year have equipped the department with additional resources for enhanced enforcement and training within its traffic unit.

This infusion of funds enables officers to dedicate extra time beyond their regular schedules to key areas of focus, including DUI enforcement, pedestrian and bicycle safety, selective traffic enforcement, and accident investigation training. By bolstering efforts in these critical areas, the GPD aims to further enhance safety on Gilbert’s roadways and ensure the well-being of residents and visitors alike.
