Scott Kooiman talks about Food Drive Donations with Dave Richins, CEO of United Food Bank. They also discuss what food banks are doing to combat food insecurity and food waste in Arizona, how we can help our neighbors, and how to support the Mesa Hydration Campaign.

We are once again thrilled to be a partner in the 16th Annual Mesa Hydration Donation Campaign, from June 1 through September 30, with the aim of providing supplies of water to the vulnerable populations in our community.

The City of Mesa works with nonprofit agencies and businesses like ours to collect the bottles of water which are distributed through United Food Bank to numerous agencies in the valley, including A New Leaf-East Valley Men’s Center, Paz de Cristo and Mesa United Way.  Water is also given out by Mesa Fire and Medical Department, Mesa Police Department, and Mesa City Park Rangers to people in heat distress and to homeless persons to prevent heat distress.

The campaign is a lifesaver for the less fortunate during the hot summer months and the need is even greater this year due to the economic challenges.

You can help by donating cases of water at our office weekdays from 8am-5pm or you can donate online at https://give.unitedfoodbank.org/klaus
